FAQs

1. What does the conference fee include?

The conference fee includes admission to all lectures; lunch at St Anne's College on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; and the conference reception. Please note that no evening meals are provided; you are free to make your own arrangements.

2. What are the times of the conference?

The conference will begin at 9.00 a.m. on Monday 23 June, and end at lunchtime on Wednesday 25 June. We have not confirmed the exact details of the lecture times, but we expect the formal lectures to end about 12.30. Lunch will end by 2.00 p.m.. We recommend arriving in Oxford on Sunday 22 June, as traffic can be very bad in Oxford on Monday mornings.

2. What accommodation arrangements can I make?

You have three options. First, you can make your own arrangements, and simply pay the conference fee. You way want to stay with friends or relatives, or make your own reservations with an Oxford hotel or guest house. You should arrive on the Sunday, as the conference begins relatively early on Monday morning. We have provided links to many of these to help you make contact with you. Second, you can reserve an en-suite room at St Anne's College. This is a comfortable modern room, close to the University Museum. Breakfast is included in the cost of this room. Please note that no parking is available at St Anne's College. This accommodation is available from the afternoon of Sunday 22 June until late morning on Wednesday 25 June. Third, you can reserve a more basic room at St Anne's College, which includes a wash basin, but not a shower or toilet. These facilities are available close to your room. These rooms are especially suitable for those on a limited budget. Again, breakfast is included in the cost of this room. Please note that no parking is available at St Anne's College. This accommodation is available from the afternoon of Sunday 22 June until late morning on Wednesday 25 June.

3. How do I pay?

We regret that we can only accept payment in pounds sterling, by cheque or international money orders. This reflects our desire to keep conference costs as low as possible, and to avoid any security risks in using credit cards online. Cheques should be made payable to Harris Manchester College, and should be drawn on a British bank. International Money orders should be made payable to Harris Manchester College. If you are applying from outside the United Kingdom, your local bank should be able to make the arrangements without difficulty and at modest costs. Details of where to send the cheque or money order will be provided when you submit your application.
