Speaker: Joanna Collicutt
Joanna Collicutt is lecturer in psychology at Heythrop College, University of London, and convenor of the MA in psychology of religion. She studied experimental psychology at Oxford University, and qualified as a clinical psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, London University.
She has many years experience as a consultant clinical neuropsychologist in the British National Health Service. Her PhD concerned fear and anxiety following brain injury. She then studied theology at Oxford University, and worked on a research project in natural theology directed by Professor McGrath.
Her presentation arises from a chapter she wrote for McGrath’s Open Secret. Other publications include “Post-traumatic growth and the origins of early Christianity.” Mental Health, Religion and Culture 9, 291-200, and Ethical practice in brain injury rehabilitation (Oxford University Press, 2007).
She is presently working on a book on reading biblical texts in the light of trauma theory, and a work dealing with the relationship between Jesus of Nazareth and women.
